Telephones
To determine which amplified phone best suits your needs, it is suggested you find out what decible (dB) hearing loss you have. If you wear hearing aids, your audiologist can help.
As a general guideline, a phone with up to 28dB is good for mild hearing loss: 30-48db for moderate hearing loos; and 50dB+ for severe hearing loss. If you are not a hearing aid user and are not sure which phone will provide enough amplication, you could start with a 40dB telephone, keeping in mind that a 40dB is the maximum gain-you may lower the volume if you find that 40dB is too high.
With Digital Clarity Power (DCPtm) technology, you can make only the sounds you want to hear louder, clearer and easier to understand. This technology uses digital signal processing to recognize and amplify conversations in a way never imagined before. DCP intelligently amplifies voices, eliminated distracting echoes, reduces noise and suppresses sharp, sudden sound in telephones.
